Sweet orange essential oil is extracted from the peel of the fruit and it is often used to make perfumes, cosmetic products and to flavor foods. But, did you know that sweet orange essential oil is also wonderful to activate digestion and to strengthen the immune system.

How To Use Sweet Orange Essential Oil

  • To tone up your skin (after a weight loss program for instance) and to normalize oily skin: sweet orange essential oil has purifying properties, that's why it is so used to make beauty products. Here's a beauty oil that you can use on oily skin and to tone up your skin: mix in half a cup of vegetable oil 50 drops of sweet orange essential oil. Massage your skin with it.

  • Tensor mask: mix well 2 egg yolks, 5 drops of sweet orange essential oil and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Apply a thick layer of the mixture on your face. Leave it to stand about 15 minutes before rinsing.
  • To flavor your cakes: I usually add 3 drops of sweet orange essential oil for a pound of cake mixture. For example, it's yummy and wonderful in a yogurt cake, pear cake or apple cake...
  • To regain calmness: diffuse in the air of your home a few drops of sweet orange essential oil and lavender essential oil.
  • To digest well: If you feel anxious and this makes your digestion difficult, take a teaspoon of honey in which you have added 2 drops of sweet orange essential oil. Caution: Essential oil should always be taken with honey when used internally.
  • To get back into shape after being sick, take regularly this bath: mix in 4 tablespoons of milk or bath base 10 drops of sweet orange essential oil, 5 drops of lemon essential oil and 5 drops of lavender essential oil. Disperse the preparation in your bath and stay about 15 minutes in your bath. Breathe deeply the steam. Caution: always mix essential oil with a dispersant such as milk or milk powder, for essential oils are insoluble in water.
