Health Benefits Of Thyme Essential Oil
As thyme essential oil has so many properties, it is recommended to use it in case of asthma, asthenia, whooping cough, intestinal infections, pulmonary affections, rheumatism, urinary infections, circulatory troubles, digestive problems, hair loss, cold and flu, gout, scabies...
Caution: As thyme essential oil is very powerful, it should always be diluted when used internally and externally.
How To Use Thyme Essential Oil
- To reduce hair loss: Thyme essential oil is an efficient hair tonic. If you have dull or brittle hair or if you are losing your hair, just add 2 drops of thyme essential oil to the shampoo that you are regularly using. And for the last rinse (that you will use after your shampoo), dilute 2 drops of thyme essential oil in a tablespoon of spirit vinegar and in 5 cups of mineral water.
- To relieve rheumatism / joint pain: mix well 2 drops of thyme essential oil and two drops of juniper essential oil in 3 tablespoons of heavy cream. Massage the painful areas with this mixture.
- To avoid flatulence: after your meal, drink a peppermint, lemon balm or fenugreek seeds tea. Sweeten your tea with a teaspoon of honey in which you have added one drop of thyme essential oil. Caution: thyme essential oil is very powerful, always dilute it in honey before taking it orally.
- To relieve chronic bronchitis, asthma: diffuse in the air a few drops of thyme essential oil. This will help clear your bronchial tubs and help you breathe easier. It will also have a stimulant effect.
- To flavor rice, pasta, vegetables...: mix 15 drops of thyme essential oil in 4 cups of olive oil and use it to cook. This oil will also help you to digest well.
- To fight fatigue, gout, rheumatism, cold and flu: mix in 6 tablespoons of milk 5 drops of thyme essential oil, 5 drops of rosemary essential oil, 5 drops of lavender essential oil and 5 drops of oregano essential oil. Disperse this in your bath. You can also use this bath to prevent cold and flu, for thyme essential oil helps to strengthen the immune system. Caution: as essential oils are not soluble in water, always dilute them in a dispersant.
- Expectorant massage oil: if you have caught cold and flu (stuffy nose and throat), massage the top of your chest and the sides of your nose with the following oil. Mix in a cup of vegetable oil 35 drops of thyme essential oil, 35 drops of eucalyptus essential oil, 20 drops of niaouli essential oil and 20 drops of ravensara essential oil. Shake well before each use.
